Herringbone

I have become totally enthralled with knitting.  I'd even go so far as to say I find it as pleasurable as quilting!  Maybe I should be the knitted tortoise…

Mr Tortoise asked if I could knit him a scarf for standing on the train platform on cold Melbourne winter mornings and I jumped at the chance to be able to make something he wanted.

We chose the Purl Bee Men's Mini Herringbone Scarf and Squoosh Fiberarts Ultra Worsted in Steel.  The yarn is sooooo wonderfully soft and perfect for wearing next to your skin.

I was hoping the herringbone stitch would look less home-made (embarrassing to wear) and more hand-made (the envy of others).

I couldn't understand the herringbone stitch from the written pattern; however once I'd been to youtube and seen a video of it I picked it up really quickly and it was a very easy stitch to knit.

It's turned out really well.  It's the perfect length from 2 skeins of yarn.  He loves it and that makes me a very happy tortoise <3

Ravelled here.
